Description
From the sellerThis Japanese Painted Wood Box from the 1920s-1930s features an Asian floral bird design, making it a unique and decorative collectible item. Crafted from wood and measuring 11 inches in length, 3 inches in width, and 3 inches in height, this box is perfect for any room and occasion. The decorative escutcheon (lock plate) actually suggests a slightly older or more specialized production than standard post-WWII decor, securely placing this box around the 1920s to 1930s (Early Showa or Taisho era). This is part of a collection of small boxes, jewelry cases, stuff, boxes, etc. that I recently inherited. These items were kept in a non-smoking home and out of sunlight for over 35 years. My uncle was a big collector of Asian antiques. He likely purchased this in the late 80s.
