James Mont Style Asian Chinoiserie Faux Bronze Ice Bucket Ding Urn Turquoise MCM

Vintage James Mont style cast metal ice bucket in the Hollywood Regency chinoiserie tradition, circa 1960s. Faux bronze verdigris finish with all-over taotie mask and geometric leiwen pattern incised throughout the body and lid. Three cylindrical legs, four rectangular flanges, twin bird-head lid handle. Interior fitted with turquoise insulated liner. The liner has cracking along the top edge and on the inside of the lid, consistent with age -- clearly shown in photos. Inspired by Chinese Zhou Dynasty bronze ding ritual vessels. Approximately 12 inches tall, 10.5 inches diameter. A striking MCM barware and decor piece with strong collector appeal in the James Mont and Hollywood Regency categories.
