Description
From the sellerMonomoy residents relied solely on the bounty of the ocean. Whitewash Village, a fishing community, thrived on Monomoy in the early nineteenth century. Monomoy, once a peninsula about eight miles long reaching southward from Chatham at the elbow of Cape Cod, has now been split by erosion and storms into two islands known as North and South Monomoy.
