Guatemalan Handmade Throw Pillow With Embroidery

Throw pillow handmade from a dress which was made for the tourist trade and purchased in the market at Antigua Guatemala in 1983. The hand embroidered panel has roses in light and dark shades of pink, orange, green and blue with turquoise and black on a maroon background. The handwoven textile has stripes of varying widths in magenta, orange, gold, greens, blues and purples. Height 16 inches, width 19 inches, thickness 5 inches. Some loose threads and signs of wear in embroidery as shown in last photo, otherwise good condition. In order to remove the cover, a seam would have to be opened.
