THIS IS A SUPERB ANTIQUE BRASS CANDLESTICK WITH A GREEN AND BLUE PARROT, PARAKEET, OR LOVEBIRD SITTING ON A PERCH. THE PARROT IS COLD PAINTED LEAD AND MOST LIKELY MADE BY HEYDE OF GERMANY. THE PIECE DATES TO CIRCA 1880-1920. This wonderful candlestick with its Green Parrot, Parakeet or Lovebird is so charming with its green, yellow and blue feathers and red head. The bird is of the highest quality of Heyde, Plomb de Nuremburg cold painted lead figures with superb modeling and expression. The figure depicts the most wonderful parrot in a perky adorable pose! The expression on the bird's face is so full of life and the details on the feathers is exquisite. The bird is hand painted in the cold painted bronze technique. This is such a delightful piece. The candlestick is 8 inches (20cm) tall and is 3.75 inches wide at the base.
