This Bank Note was issued by the Empire of Germany during the “SIEGE of MAINZ” in 1793. The Siege of Mainz refers to a series of significant military blockades during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. The most famous of these took place in 1793, when a Coalition of Austrian, Prussian, and German forces besieged and recaptured the heavily fortified city from revolutionary French occupiers. The Banknote is Catalogued as Pick-S1479a. The Note has a minor edge nick otherwise and grades in PMG 25 VERY FINE Condition. Shipping U.S. domestic shipping cost will be $5.75.
