Description
From the sellerAn authentic Georgian period hairwork medallion, circa 1780–1820, featuring a classical mourning scene in applied relief of paste glass mounted an an agate base. The piece centers a draped female figure with winged putto beside a funerary urn, set on a softly translucent chalcedony/agate ground, and encircled by finely hand-braided human hair under gold mounts. The construction and remaining solder traces around the perimeter indicate this was originally the central element of a larger composite jewel (likely a necklace or pendant assemblage), and now survives as a standalone period medallion. Measures 34 by 28 mm Beautiful condition as shown
