From the sellerRare Confederate document tied to General Joseph Wheeler’s command. Dated November 15th, 1864, this details the taking of 160 pounds of pork by Wheeler’s cavalry from the premises of Mrs. Adeline Fan (Cherokee County, Alabama) without paying for it. William Canon signed the statement with his mark (x) for Mrs. Fan. On the reverse, two neighbors attested to the correctness of Canon’s statement and signed their names (John C Harris and Robert Campbell) The document is written on lined gray paper using a brown ink.
