From the sellerThis device has always been well cared for. It is in great shape for being 16 years old and I never used the car mount sticky circular pad, which is included. It powers on while plugged into the cigarette lighter port, but based on my knowledge of batteries, I would not bank on extended battery life when not connected to power.
