Description

From the seller
The Fostoria Glass Company, founded in 1887, became a leading American glassware manufacturer known for its intricate designs and high-quality craftsmanship until its closure in 1986. Origins and Early Years The Fostoria Glass Company was established on December 15, 1887, in Fostoria, Ohio, by Lucian B. Martin and William S. Brady. The location was chosen due to the availability of natural gas, which was essential for glass production. However, the gas supply was short-lived, leading the company to relocate to Moundsville, West Virginia, in 1891, where it thrived due to abundant resources. The Fostoria American glass pattern was introduced in 1915 and continued to be produced until 1982.
