Based on the stamp on the blade, this hefty cleaver was produced between 1878 and 1890. For being at least 130 years old it's in good condition. There’s a small nick in the blade and its back shows signs of being whacked by a hammer, presumably to chop through the hardiest of entrees. See photos for details.
