Description
From the sellerThis fossil is inlaid in 1” thick sandstone. Its age is from 285- 350 million years old. Cordates were tree sized woody plants similar too modern day conifers. They grew too 150 feet and thrived in swamp environments having a root system like modern day mangrove trees. There are no descendants today of this primitive plant. Cordaite leaves were strap like with parallel veins and no mid line looking similar to today’s corn.
