From the sellerThe original Lionel Corporation was founded in 1900 by Joshua Lionel Cowen and Harry C. Grant in New York City. Diesel engines were introduced in 1948. The impressive extruded aluminum passenger cars made their debut in 1952 along with classic diesels such as the 2345 Western Pacific F-3, 2032 Erie Alco and NW-2 switchers wearing the AT & SF and C & O livery.
