From the sellerElrathia Kingi Trilobite. This Trilobite shows great detail and dates from the mid-Cambrian Period, about 550 million years old. Trilobites are extinct arthropods. They had a heavy exoskeleton composed of calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate minerals, and protein, therefore leaving behind a well preserved fossil record.
