THE TOP 5 DRAWERS OPEN AS THEY SHOULD. A COUPLE HAVE CRACKS IN THE BOTTOM. THE BOTTOM DRAWER IS HARDER TO OPEN, AND THE BOTTOM NEEDS REPAIR TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. WHY ANYONE WOULD PAINT THIS BEAUTIFUL CABINET BLACK IS ANYONE'S GUESS, BUT I BELIEVE IT IS WALNUT, AND MAYBE THE VARNISH WILL PROTECT THE WOOD FROM BEING PENETRATED.
