From the sellerThis represents a part of South Carolina's history. This hotel ws built in 1940 and named for the Confederate General of 19th Century and the Governor Wade Hampton. it became the largest hotel when it was expanded in 1950. It had famous guests such as Joan Crawford, Bob Hope and Ronald Reagan. The hotel was purchased by the University of South Carolina in 1978 for use as an upper scale dormitory. However, it was demolished in 1985. it has names of other affiliated hotel inside. Match cover comes from the Match Corp.of America.
