Description

From the seller
Zulu artisans (often men in urban areas) started making these in the mid-20th century using discarded telephone wire from industrial or urban settings. It evolved from traditional Zulu grass/palm fiber basketry but adapted to recycled materials. They’re now popular exports, fair-trade items, and collectibles. Beautiful piece! These are prized for both their craftsmanship and cultural history.
