Nezavisna Drzava Hrvatska (Independent State of Croatia) 1000 Kuna, dated 20 svibnja 1941, Pick 4, printed by Giesecke and Devrient, Berlin. Obverse features a Croatian woman in national costume; reverse depicts a mountain landscape. Issued by the Ustasha-led NDH state during the Axis occupation of Yugoslavia, this note represents one of the rarest short-lived currency systems of the WWII era.
