Description
From the sellerPostcard advertising for the Continental Insurance Co. of New York. May not strictly be called a postcard as there is no place on the back side for mailing address or for a stamp. Very soiled on both sides, some wording on the back is scratched off. Two women on the beach with one watching a ship out on the sea. No date but the message says the company had a net surplus in 1882 so this might have been printed in 1883 or 1884. The company was formed in 1853 and today is part of CNA Financial. The agent at the bottom the card is C.C. Close, Pacific, Missouri, which is just to the SW of the St. Louis metro area. FREE S&H
