This item is a compote w/ a bird on the lid. It was made in West Germany of over 24% PbO full lead crystal. Made by Bleikristallglaswerke, Karl Hofbauer GmbH & Company sometime between 1945 and 1960. It is 6 1/2 inches tall. Is in original packaging somewhat. The box is original, but the protective paper was so old that I did rewrap it. It had been in a small shop that closed in the mid 90's. It had never been opened until I did so to inspect for damage. Old-new stock.
