Description
From the sellerLarge antique Chinese bone carving depicting dignitaries or figures from Chinese mythology/royalty; possibly diety Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy) and Shoulao (the God of Longevity). Each is intricately carved with accoutrement detail. They are in beautiful condition for age although each minor chips (pictured). Both are securely fitted atop carved wooden bases specific to the figure. Polychrome or possibly sumi ink colors have faded a bit but very well done. Purchased about 10 years ago at an antique store in Canyonville Oregon. (Possibly Qing Dynasty) The bases are 3-4 inch across. Female: 11 inches; base is 2.25 inches tall - Male: 10.5 inches - base is 2 inches tall. Note: Postage=priority with insurance.
