This miniature from the late 17th Century is an oil painted on thin wafer material. See photos. Based on the clothing style and attire it resembles late Baroque European menswear. His shoulder length hair (periwig) was the hallmark style of nobility and Western Europe. This was a popular style of miniature across England, France and the Netherlands. The subject has a strong resemblance to King Charles ll with the lower lip. Condition. Shows crazing and micro-cracking in the paint. See the details in the photos.
