From the sellerStrombecker suggested putting a 3rd piece of wood in the center to keep the sides from bowing, while Red Ball used solid wood sides. For N or Z scale, NMRA suggests simply cutting an entire piece of balsa wood to the size of a boxcar including the sloped roof.
