Description
From the seller1/1250 scale waterline model of French training ship / cruiser minelayer La Tour d’Auvergne as in 1939. Rare out of production Argonaut model AR-416. Built as “Pluton”, and commissioned in 1932, she was never officially renamed - Pluton is a name reserved in French Navy for minelayers, and before she actually served as a training ship she was retained as a minelayer under her original name. Ordered to lay a defensive minefield off Casablanca in September 1939, and then recalled, she exploded and sank at the quay while offloading the already fuzed mines. Will combine shipping.
