Antique US Military Cavalry Horse Mule Bridle Headstall, Bit Blinders W/ "US"

This appears to be a US military draft horse or mule bridle that was used in the early 1900's and up till the first world War. I found it at a local estate sale. The leather was very dry and cracked and brittle. I have soaked it in leather oil and it's better, but not good. Its still stiff but not nearly as fragile or brittle. The stitching on the blinders and other parts is missing and pulled apart as shown in the photos. I think it still looks great as a wall hanging. The history it had seen is thought provoking, and it would be a great conversation starter for any history buff. I will pack it carefully and pad it well.
