Antique Royal Doulton Sailing Ship Plate B Series D2551 10 5/8" England 1907

Founded in 1815 in Vauxhall London and carrying on to present day with an array of house and utilitarian wares. They became one of the first British makers of art pottery. The sailing ship D2551 is a wonderful depiction of life on the open sea. This plate is 10 5/8" in diameter with brilliant colors and fine brush work. There are no chips or cracks but the glaze does have craquelure which is shown clearly in one of the pictures, as evidence of its age. This series was manufactured in the early 1900s.
