Antique Indian Embroidered Silk Panel Taj Mahal, Peacocks, Foliage, Flowers

This embroidered silk panel depicts the Taj Mahal and two quilted peacocks with stylized scrolling of foliage and flowers. Embroidered with wool, wire, and silver thread measuring 3’ 2” x 1’ 7 3/4”. I have found similar designs, but none as fine or vibrant as this one. (One was mounted in a wood, freestanding screen set behind glass.) It was purchased in Indian subcontinent by a soldier in the British civil service c. 1900. It is in perfect condition, likely because it was kept wrapped in a closet.
