This auction is for an ANTIQUE "FAULTLESS" CARPET STRETCHER & TACKER by J W QUILLING in QUINCY, ILLINOIS. It was patented in 1903. It is designed to "grab" onto the carpet and pull out any slack areas before attaching it to the floor strips along a wall. The tool is about 35" long. One of the metal pieces is cracked >> see photos 4,5. Priced accordingly. This would make a great "wall hanger" to display in a carpet shop. If you were going to use it, the broken metal piece could be welded back together.
