From an estate collection, this item is a fire hose nozzle which belonged Engine 77 of the Chicago Fire Dept, a very busy pumper which was located on the impovershed west side of the city for decades until decommissioned 20 years ago. It is known as an 1-1/4" shut-off pipe, which attached to a 2-1/2" fire hose & also had a threaded end to which a smaller 1-/2" hose could be attached to it. (SEE PICS)
