From the sellerThe form was adopted by German makers in Saxony, Germany and they were advertised as Mandolin Guitars. I believe the six string versions were tuned like guitars. LUTE STYLE 6-STRING MANDOLIN. I do know, however, it is a very beautiful object and appears to be in excellent condition.
