This is a vintage stoneware match holder and striker, likely made by White's Utica Pottery Co. for the American Brewing Co. of Rochester, New York. I'm not sure of this no markings. Function: Used to hold matches and strike them on the textured surface to light them. Material: Heavy gray or off-white stoneware with blue cobalt decoration. Design: Features a distinctive basketweave or textured surface pattern around the sides.
