Description
From the sellerAntique secretary’s desk furniture by Amfurnoco (American Furniture Novelty Co) of Chicago. Original hand painted / solid wood / draw pulls include mother of pearl inlay. Amfurnoco was established in 1911 by E B (Emanual B) Getzoff. He started out manufacturing triangular shape hat racks and then began manufacturing fine novelty furniture such as library tables, tea wagons, serving tables, etc. After the stock market crash of 1929, while many furniture companies folded, novelty furniture became popular to brighten up a home. Some of the pieces had stenciled flowers like this one.
