Description
From the seller…… This auction is for a Rare Antique Miners Brass Pocketwatch Case also known as a Turnip. This case kept the watch contained safely in the mines. This case measures 3” long by 2” wide and 1 1/8” thick and is in good original condition. It was used so there are some scratches to the beveled 1 1/2” diameter window, but overall it's in very good condition. This Miner's Case comes with a 1 7/8” diameter early Fusee Pocketwatch. It is unmarked however as you look at our photographs you will see this is a quality late 18th or early 19th Century Watch with fancy engraved fusee works. The outer pocketwatch case is also unmarked, however we guarantee it is at least 800 silver or higher. This early watch is working, however it runs and then stops so it will need attention to keep good time. Inside is a repair ticket from Texas.
