Description
From the sellerA great antique Native American sewing basket, featuring curled wood accents & colorful painted details. Dates to the late 19th Century (c.1880s-1890s); fresh from an excellent local estate collection. Skillfully hand-crafted from black ash splints and natural pigments. An Eastern Woodlands piece, the basket was found in Western New York State, and is most likely a Haudenosaunee design. It measures approximately 12 1/2" long by 11" wide by 4" deep. The basket is in overall fine to good condition for its age. Carefully stored & cherished by the previous owner; clean & ready for display. A delightful antique basket that will make a fascinating addition to any fine collection. (Please expand "See Full Description" link for details.).
