Antique 1910-1940 Metal Cash Register Flash Sign Plates/Drawer Indicators Set 2

These objects are vintage metal cash register drawer indicators or flash sign plates, typically used on early 20th-century department store cash registers. When a transaction took place, these flags popped up inside a glass marquee at the top of the machine to show the customer and supervisor the specific type of transaction being recorded. Left Plate: Stamped with "SALE CHARGE RETURN" at the bottom ridge. Right Plate: Stamped with "MAIL CHECK CASH RETURNS" at the bottom ridge. Construction: Made of heavy sheet metal with top mounting holes, now displaying a heavily oxidized, rusted patina from age.
