Description
From the seller5x8 ruled paper dated July 11, 1871, sent to hardware merchants in Macon. The letter complains about the lime that was previously sent to Eastman saying that the last 5 casks do not suit their purpose. If the Macon merchants can't provide fresh lime then they will have to source it elsewhere. "We are in great haste to get it as we have several Masons waiting for it & we desire also to get the house as soon as possible.". It is signed W P Eastman but written by someone with the initials ACP. I can only think that this letter refers to the construction of the Eastman-Bishop-Bullock House completed in 1872. Paper slightly soiled.
