Description
From the sellerAntique 1871 letter written by Charles H Connors to hardware merchants in Macon, Georgia informing them that he has enclosed the payment for his account balance but asking the Macon firm to look over their accounts because they actually owe Connors money. Connors also says that he has not received the nails and axes he ordered but supposes they are at Wooten station and are "all wright". The word "Starkville" is written in pencil by a different hand and I assume that someone at the Macon business did that for their records. So much of their business was done by rail with orders coming in and goods going out that it was probably a challenge to keep it all straight.
