From the sellerThis is the preamp section of an Ampex 601 portable, analog, reel-to-reel tape recorder from the 1950s that has been removed from its mother machine and converted for standalone usage. The "umbilicals" on the rear of the unit are still attached in case a future owner would ever want to get it "unconverted" and reinstalled back into an Ampex 601 tape recorder suitcase.
