Description
From the sellerIt's a West African string instrument that is over 100 years old that is similar to the Harp. It is traditionally made from a large Calabash, which is a type of Gourd, cut in half and covered in Cow skin to make a resonator or sound box. the strings are made from fishing line or other materials and are attached to a long neck, that is also made from wood. The Kora is played by plucking the strings with the fingers of both hands, while the thumbs are used to mute or dampen the strings to create a variety of sounds.
