2 items Conductor Anton Seidl (1850-1898) First is an autograph of Seidl who was best known for working with Richard Wagner and conducting his opera at Bayreuth. He was also Music Director of the New York Philharmonic (1891-1898 ) with whom he conducted the world premiere of Dvorak’s Ninth Symphony. He conducted German operas at the Met, starting with Lohengrin in 1885. Second is the Brighton Beach summer program book from the week of August 3,1889. Seidl was the Music Director for this festival, which held different concerts at 3:30 and 8:00. Fourteen different concerts, each featuring Wagner! Excellent condition.
