For sale here I have a sweet small sized early 19th century redware apple butter / preserve jar. Nice short form with a good orange / brown coloring. Has a glazed interior and an unglazed exterior. Has a thick pronounced top edge rim for allowing a string tie and cloth closure. It measures 4 1/8 inches across by 3 1/2 inches tall. Typically these originated from PA , and date early to mid 19th century. Excellent collection with a nice honest patina . Nice smaller than often found size. Buyer pays shipping.
