Description
From the sellerVintage 1950's 6.5" porcelain bisque baby piano girl doll figurine happily holds her hands up high. She is in good condition, consistent with age and displayed use. She does have a few age related speckles/pinholes. These are caused by specks of iron in the original molded clay working to the surface over time. It is common among imported figurines of this era. No other defects or repairs are noted. Original piano dolls were imported from Germany in the late 19th century and were designed keep a shawl from slipping off a polished piano top. Their popularity faded after WWI. They regained popularity with mass production of piano babies imported from Japan in the 1950's.
