First edition (1919) of Building the Pacific Railway by Edwin L. Sabin. Published by J.B. Lippincott Company, Philadelphia and London. Original burgundy cloth hardcover with gilt spine lettering. Illustrated with 22 plates and a map. Covers show light shelf wear and minor wear to the spine ends. Binding is sound and pages are clean. An excellent history of the construction of the Union Pacific and Central Pacific Railroads and the completion of America’s first transcontinental railroad. A desirable collectible for railroad history, Western Americana, and Union Pacific collectors.
