Description
From the sellerThis is a 1915-S Barber quarter from the San Francisco Mint, graded VF25 by PCGS. The Barber design, by Charles E. Barber, was used on dimes, quarters, and half dollars from 1892 to 1916. Struck at the historic San Francisco Mint, this piece shows honest wear with clear details of Liberty’s profile and the reverse eagle. The Barber quarter was designed by Charles E. Barber, the US Mint’s Chief Engraver, after a public competition failed to produce a winner. Many criticized the design for its stiff, classical look. The series ended in 1916 when the Mint wanted a more modern style.
