THIS WAS A MUCH LOVED/USED OIL LAMP, MADE OF BRASS WITH WICK THAT JUST POKES INTO THE TANK, TO LOAD THE WHALE OIL, REMOVE THE SCREW IN PLUG ON THE SIDE AND FILL. NOTE THAT IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED AT THE BASE AND AT THE TOP. MUST HAVE BEEN REALLY IMPORTANT TO THE OWNER TO GO TO SUCH PAINS TO REPAIR.
