From the seller1880s Wells Fargo & Co Express sealer. Were used on lead seals that had a wire attached to secure money bags. See pictures and description from James Bartz book, “Company Property”. You can buy a copy of the book on eBay. If your WF item is not in this book, probably a fantasy item. Last photo is a paragraph from the book on fantasy fakes. Worth reading.
