1860’s 5” X 8” Stereo Camera

This is an original, working 5” x 8” wet-plate, folding bed stereo camera. The body bears an “Aug 1, 1863” patent date. The wet-plate back and ground glass are more modern but made in the original style. The matched meniscus lenses with rotary Waterhouse stops are original late 19th century and the double lens cap is newly made. I used this camera for several years and added a proper accordion. septum and an original back focus adjuster. Not doing much wet-plate these days and it’s time to pass this on to another who enjoys the stereo format or add a standard lens for other single formats. No issues known and the bellows is light-tite.
