Description
From the seller1793EM 5 Kopecks, Bitkin-647. KM C#59.3. Issued by Empress Catherine the Great. Graded as MS 62 BN by NGC, which apparently did not recognize that it was double struck, and thus it is not noted on the slab. An interesting example showing clear signs of the double striking, with the second strike being well-centered over the previous strike, which appears to be slightly off-center. This may very well have been done by mint workers who noticed that the first strike was off-centered. Clean brown surfaces with nice luster showing off the metal flow lines of the strike.
