1793 EM 5 Kopeks NGC VF 35 BN, Flip-Over Double Strike

1793 EM 5 Kopeks from Russia. Struck under Empress Catherine II (The Great). Graded VF 35 BN by NGC, which apparent did not recognize that it was double struck, and thus it is not noted on the slab. On the reverse (eagle side) may be seen traces of the lower left curve of of the script "E" in the Catherine II monogram from the obverse of the original strike (to the left of the "E" in the mintmark), as well as traces of the wreath from the obverse design from the original strike. Because traces of the obverse on the original strike on visible on the reverse of the last strike, obviously the coin was flipped between strikes.
