The Reverend John Devotion (1729-1802) was a prominent Congregational minister and educator in colonial Saybrook, Connecticut. Based in Westbrook, he actively supported the Revolutionary cause through his teachings and by tutoring local patriots, most notably the early submarine inventor David Bushnell.
